Description:
A superconductor is cooled with liquid nitrogen and a small rectangular magnet is placed on it. When the superconductor reaches its critical temperature, and begins to superconduct, the magnet will begin to float above the surface. A video camera can be placed on the floating magnet and the image can be projected so it is more visible. This demo looks especially good when the magnet is made to rotate above the surface of the superconductor.
