Motor and Gen Same Device.gif

Description:

Demo 1 DC Generator and moter A DC Genecon hand crank generator is connected to a small light bulb. Turning the crank lights the bulb. Connecting the Genecon to a battery will make the crank turn

Demo 2 AC Alternator and motor/ By spinning the bicycle wheel, the alternator causes the lights up,. By then applying 5-V AC to the alternator, it becomes a motor which can turn the wheel. Because the generator was not designed for this use it takes a little encouragement to turn the wheel. The wheel must be turned by hand at the right speed (less than one rev. per second) in the clockwise direction in order to get the motor action started. With a little practice this is not hard to do.

Location:

  • Mounted Bicycle fork with alternator: Shelf O-2
  • Wheel: Hanging Near Shelf A
  • Genecon Shelf J-2
