Description:

There is a small amount of Ferro Fluid in a pyrex beaker. The beaker is atop a solenoid, through which we a sending an ac signal using a signal generator set for low frequencies. We found that signals above about 20 hertz were just too fast for the fluid to respond to, and these movies don't show anything beyond a few hertz.
