Description:

A chamber with two chimneys on top has a candle placed inside it. The heated air flows out of the chimney above the candle, causing air to be drawn into the other chimney. Touch paper generates smoke after lit. When held above the cool chimney the smoke makes the convection flow visible. The flow is more visible if the area above the apparatus is illuminated by a light from the side by a projector.
