Description:

Neon gas filled signs are excited with a 5000v source. Students can observe the spectral "curves" obtained from the different neon gas signs. One sign says neon, another has the periodic table symbol for neon, Ne and a third sign is bent into the equation E=hn to remind students of the principle they are studying.

Location:

  • Spectral signs Ne and E=hn : Shelf L-1
  • NEON Sign: Glassware Cabinet T-2
  • Diffraction Gratings: Drawer 98
  • Spectral Tube Power Supplies: Shelf L-3
