Drawing of Heat Capacity Apparatus
Description:

Three glass funnels, filled with ice, sit over small beakers to collect melted ice. Each beaker has a drop of food coloring to make measurement of the amount of melted ice visually assessable. 50 ml of water, a 100 g Al mass, and a 100 g steel mass, all at 100oC are individually added to each funnel.

Location:
  • Apparatus Dr. 54: tub contains funnels, beakers and masses
  • White electric Tea Kettle F1
  • Food coloring: shelf near sink
  • Will also need ring stands and clamps to hold funnels in place.
