Corn Syrup.gif

Description:

1-2 inches of corn syrup is put in beaker on overhead. One polarizing sheet is placed over the beaker; the other is slowly rotated over it. As the plane of polarization is changed different colors will be observed due to circular polarization caused by the optically active corn syrup.

Location:

  • Syrup: M-2
  • Polarizers: Drawer 118
