Return to Transfer of Heat
Description:
A balloon contains some water. The water balloon is placed over a flame and the balloon will not break since the heat is conducted away at a fast rate since the balloon is so thin and the water has a high heat capacity. The temperature does not increase to a high enough temperature to break the balloon.
