This uses water in manometers to show the pressure differences within the metal tube. With no air flow the columns of water are level within each tube. With air flow entering the tube, the water rises toward the open end of the tube, the difference in column height varies within each tube showing the pressure in that section. The smallest height change is in the manometer attached to the narrow section of the pipe since air is traveling faster in that section of pipe. | This uses water in manometers to show the pressure differences within the metal tube. Description:
This uses water in manometers to show the pressure differences within the metal tube. With no air flow the columns of water are level within each tube. With air flow entering the tube, the water rises toward the open end of the tube, the difference in column height varies within each tube showing the pressure in that section. The smallest height change is in the manometer attached to the narrow section of the pipe since air is traveling faster in that section of pipe.
