Description:
Faraday Cage is connected to the Kethley Electrometer that is set to measure voltage. Two proof planes, one having a piece of material one side, and the other just metal on both sides, are placed in the cage. The cage is grounded to neutralize any charge on the objects or cage. The two planes are grounded to neutralize any charge. Dip them into the cage one at a time and note the needle on the Electrometer does not move. The two planes are now rubbed together while in the cage. Take each plane out and notice that one is charged negative, the other positive but when they are both in the cage the net charge is zero. Be sure the proof planes do not touch the inside of the cage or charge will be transferred to the cage
