Salts can be burned while their spectra are looked at.
Various salts are suspended in liquid.  A wire dipper is used to gather a sample of the salt and the held over a Bunsen burner and different colors are observed depending on the substance element.  The spectrum can be observed using a diffraction grating.

Description:

Various salts are suspended in liquid. A wire dipper is used to gather a sample of the salt and the held over a Bunsen burner and different colors are observed depending on the substance element. The spectrum can be observed using a diffraction grating.
